This is how the Reed Brother's passion for skating and surfing came to be.

The story began in 1933, when our mother, Julie Reed, was born.
Our story begins in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles California, in 1959 when Kevin was born and 4 years later, in 1963, Lance was born.
From September -63 to December -65 the family
lived in Seaside.
In December 1965 the family moved to Mott Street in Santa Cruz.
The year was 1968 and Kevin met Bob Box and
Bob Cates who owned Schofield Surfshop on
Seabright Avenue in Santa Cruz. There was a surfboard
in the shop Kevin was eyeing. It had been broken,
but had been repaired. It was white with a yellow
band, 6 feet 8 inches long, 22 inches wide, single fin.
Kevin got an offer for a trade for the board;
his dog Angel or his microscope for the board. Decision was easy, they got the microscope
and Kevin got his first surfboard.

1974

Four years prior to the drought of SoCal, Leland Moulton, Lance and Kevin Reed and a few others in 1974 are the original clean up crew of a pool at a home that burnt to the ground, that we nicknamed Buena Vista. Today it's known as 'The Fiesta Bowl', where every year an event is held by one of the original landowners in memory of what took place. For the spirits of Buena Vista love what the skateboarders have been bringing to
the pool for decades.
